The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Bharati Ayurved Hospital is one of the most advanced and spacious units in Maharashtra, dedicated to providing specialized care for premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns. Spanning over a large area and equipped with state-of-the-art ventilators, incubators, and monitoring devices, our NICU integrates classical Ayurvedic pediatric principles with modern neonatal technologies. This unique blend ensures every newborn receives life-saving support, balanced growth, and holistic nurturing right from the start of life.
Facilities and Technology
Level III NICU
Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive care with 60 beds and 14 ventilators, including high-frequency oscillators (HFO) and Bubble CPAP units to support critically ill newborns.
Advanced Monitoring Systems
Equipped with functional echocardiography, neurosonography, EEG, and transcutaneous bilirubin meters, the unit ensures accurate and continuous assessment of neonatal health.
Human Milk Bank
An in-house Human Milk Bank provides pasteurized donor human milk, specially optimized for preterm and low-birth-weight infants to enhance recovery and growth.
Dedicated Neonatal Equipment and Transport
The NICU is supported by warmers, phototherapy units, and a neonatal transport ambulance for continuous, safe, and effective care during emergencies.
Round-the-Clock Expert Care
A team of MD-qualified neonatologists and pediatric Ayurvedic specialists is available 24×7, ensuring expert supervision and personalized neonatal care.
Lactation and Mother Support Programs
We offer lactation counseling and mother empowerment programs to encourage breastfeeding and optimal infant nutrition for long-term well-being.
Our NICU provides comprehensive care including surfactant therapy for respiratory distress, nitric oxide therapy for pulmonary hypertension, newborn screening for metabolic and genetic disorders, and laser therapy for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The Unit also offers post-discharge follow-ups and high-risk developmental clinics to ensure continual support for infant health.
