Founder’s Message

Hon'ble Dr. Patangrao Kadam Saheb
Founder, Bharati Vidyapeeth
Dr. Patangrao Kadam established Bharati Vidyapeeth in 1964 with the belief that all-round social transformation could be achieved through the spread of education and essential services like healthcare. Over the decades, under his visionary leadership, Bharati Vidyapeeth grew into a national institution — with over 160 educational units and healthcare facilities across India, including in the capital city of New Delhi.
His objective was simple yet profound:
“To make quality services — whether educational or medical — accessible to people from different regions and walks of life, and to offer them support aligned with their individual needs, choices, and affordability.”
Dr. Kadam constantly strived to create environments that were conducive to growth, healing, and dignity. From establishing hospitals equipped with modern infrastructure to nurturing compassionate medical teams, his efforts were focused on serving society through both care and commitment.
In April 1996, his long-standing vision came to fruition when the Government of India granted university status to a cluster of Bharati Vidyapeeth institutions under the UGC Act. This enabled the organization to evolve into a vibrant center for education, research, and healthcare.
Patients and families from across India and abroad have placed their trust in Bharati Vidyapeeth’s healthcare services — a testament to the foundation laid by Dr. Kadam.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to guide our mission: to offer healing with compassion, rooted in tradition, and supported by scientific advancement.
